about us
family company
Restaurant U Dvou velbloudů has been under the wings of the Kohout family since 2008, but we have been in the gastronomy industry for much longer. The tradition and recipe of our family is taken over from our great-grandfather, who started everything more than 50 years ago here in old Prague, and we continue in his footsteps and do honest work to this day!
And that is one of the reasons why we specialize in Czech cuisine, because the family recipes of our chefs have become almost perfect over the years. The quality of food and service is a priority and a matter of course for us, just like a properly chilled beer for lunch. We do everything in our power to see you leave satisfied and to be able to welcome you again with a smile on your face when you visit us again.
The restaurant has the same name as the whole house where we are now. You can see camels carved at the entrance to the building and in other places, but we will not tell you. Why is the building associated with camels? This is also a mystery to us, the Czech printer Jiří Melantrich knew the answer, who owned the entire building in 1563, after whom the main street next to our restaurant is named.
